RuID does not show the QR code: what a foreign citizen should do
If RuID does not show a QR code before traveling to Russia, you should not immediately delete the application or create a new profile. Most often, the problem is related to an incomplete application, an error in passport data, the Internet, an application update, verification status, or the fact that the QR code has not yet been generated.
The main thing is to understand where exactly the process stopped: logging into the application, filling out an application, checking data, sending an application or displaying the result.

Why the QR code may not appear
Common reasons:
- the application is not completely completed;
- the application is not updated;
- weak internet or VPN interferes with downloading;
- passport details do not match;
- photo or biometrics have not been verified;
- the application is still being processed;
- The travel date is indicated incorrectly;
- the profile was created on a different phone or document;
- The service is temporarily delayed.
Not all errors mean an entry ban. Sometimes it’s a simple technical problem, but it still needs to be fixed.
Check the application
Open RuID and check if there is a submitted application. If it is in draft, the QR code may not appear. If the application has been submitted, check the status: accepted, awaiting review, correction required, or error.
If the address, travel date or document is filled out incorrectly, do not try to “work around” the error. It is better to correct the data according to the official script.
Check your passport
Passport data is one of the main causes of errors. Compare:
- passport number;
- date of birth;
- validity period;
- citizenship;
- writing the name in Latin;
- old and new passport, if the document has changed.

Check your phone and login
If you signed in from a different phone, changed your number, lost access, or are using a foreign number, the application may work differently. Do not buy a ready-made account and do not log in through someone else’s profile.

What to do technically
Before contacting support, try these safe steps:
- update the application;
- check the date and time on your phone;
- disable VPN;
- change Wi‑Fi/mobile Internet network;
- re-login to your account;
- save a screenshot of the error;
- check if a notification has been received in your profile.
Do not delete your account or create a new one until you have saved the application data.
If the trip is soon
If you are traveling in the next few days, save everything that confirms the registration attempt: screenshots, application number, date of sending, application messages. Check current entry regulations and application requirements.

If in parallel there is an entry ban, RKL, expired registration, old fines or refusal at the border, the QR code may only be part of the problem. Then you need to check your migration status separately.

Is it possible to re-create an application?
Only if the application provides such an official script. Don’t create multiple statements in a row without understanding the reason for the error.
